Set against the backdrop of 17th-century Korea, The Fortress (2017) weaves a gripping tale of loyalty, resistance, and the struggle for survival. As the ambitious Khan of the Jurchen tribe invades, aiming to establish the Qing dynasty, King In-jo of Joseon finds himself at a pivotal crossroads. Faced with the overwhelming might of the Qing army, In-jo and his loyal court retreat to the strategically fortified mountain stronghold of Namhan.
